Infotrieve

Overview
Infotrieve is the premier information/document delivery provider for the medical, technology, and education industries. Their goal was to update the look and layout of their corporate web site and re-brand themselves as a non-industry specific provider to increase its customer base. CPI was asked to plan and develop a redesigned look and feel throughout the marketing pages of the site to then be integrated by Infotrieve staff into their existing functional and client-specific pages.

Challenges

1.	Develop a new design to communicate the perception of clean space and lines, easy to navigate, and highly knowledgeable. Photos from technology and medical fields must be incorporated without looking too industry-specific.
2.	Key marketing information must be easily updated by Infotrieve marketing staff including homepage announcements, media information, online newsletters, and job postings.
3.	The design template created must be integrated into existing functional and client-specific pages by Infotrieve technical staff.

Solutions

1.	Presented design compositions that used energetic colors and technical/medical photography. Photos were used in a collage bar across the top of each page and as a main image on the homepage. Replacement images would be needed to ensure multiple industry-related themes could be communicated and swapped by technical resources.
2.	Documented requirements of content to be frequently updated by Infotrieve.
3.	Communicated with Infotrieve technical staff to understand template needs for integration throughout the existing functional and client pages.

Results

1.	Creative: Developed a branded and multi-industry look and feel that highlighted important content while easily navigating visitors through the site.
2.	Content Management System: Created a secure content management system to allow Infotrieve marketing staff to easily update their designated information on the site. This included preview and edit functions to minimize data entry errors.
3.	System Integration: Provided an integration guide for design elements and templates to be applied successfully throughout existing pages. CPI supplied support to Infotrieve technical staff throughout the template application process to ensure success.
